Purdue Students Get Hands-On Experience at the JTC

We recently welcomed students and faculty from Purdue University College of Engineering’s “Failures and Forensics in Our Built Environment” class to tour our Janney Technical Center structural and materials science laboratories. Students participated in a variety of hands-on activities that culminated in a live structural load test of reinforcing steel.
The class itself was first developed by WJE Director and Principal Dan Lemieux for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and is now led at Purdue University by Professor and Associate Head of Civil Engineering Ayhan Irfanoglu to introduce the next generation of engineers to the world of forensic engineering.
