Jasmin Dickinson

Experience

Jasmin Dickinson has experience with forensic investigation, roof restoration and rehabilitation, and consulting services. Her work involves various building types, including academic, residential, government, and museums. Ms. Dickinson possesses technical expertise with historic roofing systems, such as copper, slate, and built-up roofing; historic steel windows; historic finishes; ornamental metals; and below-grade waterproofing.

While pursuing her graduate degree, Ms. Dickinson was a teaching assistant for a Construction IV: Details and Materials course. She was a nominee for the Fall 2024 Design Excellence Award and a Scholar of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for the PastForward Conference 2024. Ms. Dickinson is interested in developing her practice further in historic roofing design and repair, historic window restoration and consulting, masonry wall building enclosures, and litigation consulting.

  • Texas Capitol - Austin: Standing seam copper roof replacement, roof inspection and repair; construction administration services and existing condition documentation
  • Gonzales County Courthouse - Gonzales, TX: Master plan, materials research, site drainage calculations, and CAD development for historic brick, sandstone, and slate roof courthouse
  • Mansion Restoration - Austin, TX: Site drainage design, below-grade waterproofing, and construction administration services for 1820s historic brick masonry building
  • TxDOT Historic Bridge - San Antonio: Cast stone bridge rails restoration of five historic concrete bridges above and adjacent to the San Antonio Riverwalk; documentation, research, and construction documents development
  • University of Texas at Austin, Main Building: Historic finish analysis, historical research, archival document review, and steel window and ornamental metal documentation and assessment; specification development

  • Anderson County Courthouse - Palestine, TX: Historic plaster investigation, assessment, and recommendations for short- and long-term repairs
  • Blanton Art Museum - Austin, TX: Concrete topping slab assessment and crack mapping

 

Roof Assessment and Design

  • Texas A&M University, Academic Building - College Station: Building envelope consulting; copper dome detail development
  • Texas Capitol Visitors Center - Austin: Replacement for historic slate roof and copper gutters; construction administration assistance
  • Comal Independent School District, Middle School - New Braunfels, TX: Drainage calculations and construction drawings
  • Kimbell Art Museum - Fort Worth, TX: Condition survey of built-up roof; existing condition research and documentation

 

Coatings

  • University of Texas at Austin: Surface profile and dry film thickness testing in accordance with ASTM D7091 performed for coating mock-ups
  • Texas Capitol - Austin: Surface profile and dry film thickness testing in accordance with ASTM D7091, SSPC-PA 2, SSPC-SP 2, and SSPC-SP 3; Plannotate form development to facilitate in situ testing by WJE and client
