Experience

Lori Aument possesses more than twenty-five years of experience in historic preservation and the repair of existing buildings. Ms. Aument has worked on various historic sites, from cemeteries and building ruins to large complexes. She has assisted local and federal government agencies, cultural institutions, religious building committees, and nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Aument ensures that the team has a thorough understanding of the history of the site, its current condition, and potential solutions. Through collaboration and strong communication, she empowers clients to make the best decisions for the management and repair of their sites.

Before joining WJE, Ms. Aument founded a building conservation consulting business, specializing in the assessment and repair of buildings and sites predating 1940. She also teaches historic preservation skills through local universities and is the creator and host of Found in Philadelphia, a documentary-style Philadelphia history podcast and blog.

  • Morris Arboretum, Widener Visitor Center - Philadelphia, PA: Exterior masonry survey, documentation of repairs, and construction administration for former estate building, now serving as event venue and gift shop *
